Nassau Man Dies From Injuries Sustained In Hit-And-Run: Police

Police are looking for a dark blue, older model Nissan Altima, which they believe was involved in the crash with the 31-year-old.

HEMPSTEAD, NY — The victim of a hit-and-run in Hempstead on July 10 has died from his injuries, Nassau County police said as they released more details about the car they're looking for.

According to police, a 31-year-old man from Valley Stream was riding an ATV at the intersection of Peninsula Boulevard and South Franklin Street at 8:53 p.m. on July 10 when he was struck. Police have not yet released the man's name.

The man was taken to a hospital in critical condition. Police say he died from his injuries today.

The car that hit him is believed to be an dark blue, older model Nissan Altima, which drove off east on Peninsula Boulevard.
