Primary Results In Nassau: Bynoe, Griffin Victorious

NASSAU COUNTY, NY — Siela Bynoe defeated Assemblywoman Taylor Darling in the Democratic Primary on Tuesday night for the State Senate 6th District. Bynoe received 800 more than Darling (53-46 percent), in unofficial results from the Nassau County Board of Elections.

Bynoe is serving her fifth term as County Legislator.

Kevin Thomas decided not to run for another term as state senator.

Darling's 18th Assembly District held a primary as well, with Noah Burroughs holding 220 vote lead over Lisa Ortiz, according to the Board of Elections website's unofficial results.

Judy Griffin is one step closer to having a return engagement in Albany, after routing Patricia Maher for the 21st District. With 3,400 votes, Griffin received 84 percent of the vote. She faces incumbent Brian Curran (R) for a rematch in November.

In the other primary, Kim Keiserman was the clear favorite among voters for the 7th District State Senate race. Keiserman, a former North Hempstead Housing Authority Board commissioner and president of the Port Washington Democratic Club, received 6,900 votes (75 percent). Brad Schwartz had 2,220 votes, according to the unofficial results.

Keiserman will take on the incumbent Jack Martins (R) in the general election.
