Public Hearing Resumes For Rezoning Mitchel Field Property
The community can address Hempstead Town Board on June 10.

UNIONDALE, NY — The community will have more opportunities to speak out about a rezoning application for the Mitchel Field area.
Following afternoon and evening public hearing last week, the Hempstead Town Board unanimously voted to extend the community input process.
The next hearing is on Tuesday, June 10 at Hempstead Town Hall.

Proposed zoning changes would establish the area as the Mitchel Field Integrated Resort District (MF-IRD). Permitted uses for the property would include: gaming facilties, restaurants, hotels, retail establishments, supermarkets and spas.
Those who wish to participate in the public hearing must sign up.

Speakers will be called on in a first-come, first-served basis. To get more viewpoints heard, those who spoke at the May 27 sessions are prohibited from commenting again on June 10.
