Veteran Educator Gets Promotion In Garden City Schools

GARDEN CITY, NY — The Garden City Public Schools has named a new director of pupil services.

Michele Vivona starts in her new position on July 1. She is currently the district's assistant director of pupil personnel services.

She has a 26-year career in public education, including assistant director of pupil personnel services in Long Beach and school psychologist in Islip Schools and director of secondary special education at Rockville Centre Schools.

Vivona holds a Post-Master's Certificate in Educational Leadership from Stony
Brook University.
