Village Of Hempstead Residents To Cast Their Votes For Mayor
Incumbent Waylon Hobbs Jr. is opposed by Trustee Kevin Boone.

HEMPSTEAD, NY — Voters are deciding on the Village of Hempstead mayor. In Tuesday's election, Village Trustee Kevin Boone challenges incumbent Waylon Hobbs Jr.
Hobbs is seeking his second term as mayor. He's a volunteer firefighter and a former commissioner of the Hempstead Housing Authority.
Boone told Patch that "local elections change lives." A licensed real estate agent, Boone is a volunteer firefighter who has held several village positions over the years.
