Woman Struck, Killed By Vehicle In Nassau: Police

UNIONDALE, NY — A woman was struck and killed by a vehicle early Thursday in Uniondale, police said.

The victim, whose age and name were not released by police, was crossing Hempstead Turnpike near Uniondale Avenue just after 1 a.m., police said.

A 1995 Lexus, driven by a 25-year-old man, struck the woman, authorities said. He remained at the scene.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.
