Woman's Necklace Swiped; 3 People Flee Westbury Street: Police

The victim's necklace is valued at $5,000.

WESTBURY, NY — Police are investigating a grand larceny on Monday afternoon in Westbury.

At approximately 5 p.m., a 74-year-old woman was walking on Salisbury Park Drive near the intersection of Port Lane, when a light-colored sedan occupied by a driver and two passengers approached the woman, police said.

The passenger exited the car and placed plastic necklaces around her neck, police said. They returned to the vehicle and fled the scene.

The victim realized her necklace, valued at $5,000, had been taken by the two people, authorities said.

Police are investigating.
