26-Year-Old Opens 'One-Stop Shop' Variety Store In Glen Head
The owner of K.J.'s Corner wants to be a "staple of the Glen Head community," inspired by her father, a 9/11 victim, and "hard-working" mom.

GLEN HEAD, NY — A new variety gift store recently opened in Glen Head, the brainchild of a young entrepreneur with roots in the community. Karli Langone, 26, lives in Roslyn but her family is from the Glen Head area. She opened her store, K.J.s Corner, at 697 Glen Cove Ave., on Nov. 22.
Langone told Patch that she began working at a variety store at age 14, continuing through college, and enjoyed it. Opening her own business at only age 26, she says, was also inspired by her hard-working parents.
"I...was inspired by my dad. He was a first responder who passed away on September 11th but he also had his own landscaping business that he ran as well. He’s really been one of the driving forces as to why I opened my own business because he was the hardest working man I ever met and I want to live up to that," she said.

Langone also credits her mother who "helped [her] every step of the way to get my business up and running."
K.J.s Corner will sell party favors, balloons, gifts and offer gift wrapping. Langone hopes the store will evolve, and she says she wants to explore new ideas as she goes to "better serve" Glen Head,
