Man Stole From 2 Registers At Glen Cove CVS: Police
A Uniondale man who police alleged fled from them and crashed into the Meadowbrook Parkway overpass has been charged, police say.
GLEN COVE, NY — A Uniondale man was arrested after he stole money from two cash registers at a CVS in Glen Cove May 21, police said.
Nassau County police said the incident happened at 1:01 a.m. at the CVS on Glen Street. Xavier Diaz, 20, ordered employees to open two cash registers, reached over and removed money from them and then drove away in a 2015 Chrysler, police said.
Officers observed the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop on Glen Cove Road near the intersection of Northern Boulevard.

Diaz instead sped away south on Glen Cove Road and then crashed into the Meadowbrook Parkway overpass; he was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and placed under custody, police said.
Diaz was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny; third-degree unlawful fleeing of a police officer in a motor vehicle, and multiple vehicle and traffic law violations, police said.

He was issued an appearance ticket returnable to First District Court in Hempstead on June 12.
