Arrest Made In Trailer Break-in At North Shore High School: NCPD

Someone broke into two work trailers in March and removed items valued at $2,100, police said.

GLEN HEAD, NY — Nassau police have arrested a man in connection with a burglary on the grounds of North Shore High School in March.

Sixth Squad detectives said a security guard called police at 1:30 a.m. March 21 to report that someone had broken into two work trailers and removed several items.

Responding officers found a metal rod on the ground that was used to pick open the locks on the trailers. They were told a backpack that contained two black iPhones, house keys, blank checks and assorted paperwork — items valued at a total of $2,100 — had been taken, police said.

Police learned a man wearing all black clothing had been seen walking around the trailers. He was then seen walking north towards Glen Cove Avenue.

On Tuesday, detectives arrested Kyle Simpson, 35. He is charged with two counts of third-degree burglary and two counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief. Simpson, who has no known address, was scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead, police said.
