Car-To-Car Shooting In Broad Daylight Investigated In Nassau: Police

A gray Audi was pursued by two other cars, and then shots rang out in a residential neighborhood, Glen Cove police say.

GLEN CIVE, NY — A car chased by two others was fired upon in a residential neighborhood on Monday afternoon in Glen Cove, police said.

Police started receiving calls at about 1 p.m. from residents about a possible shooting on Porter Place, and upon officers' arrival, shell casings were found at the corner of the street and Doxey Drive, according to police.

It was determined that a gray Audi 4-door sedan was being chased by a white 4-door Lexus and Red 4-door Honda Accord, and once the cars reached the intersection of Doxey Drive and Porter Place shots were fired at the Audi, police said.

Immediately after the shooting, the three cars sped away, and at this time, it’s unknown if anyone in the Audi suffered any injuries, according to police.

“It is believed that the driver of the gray Audi was targeted, and this was not a random road rage incident," Det. Lt. John Nagle said. "The investigation is ongoing.”
