Car Show To Take Place This Saturday In Glen Head

The 2nd Annual Gold Coast Business Association Car Show will be this weekend.

GLEN HEAD, NY – The 2nd Annual Gold Coast Business Association Car Show will take place on Saturday, starting at 11 a.m.

There will be classic, vintage, and muscle cars, according to the GCBA. The annual event will have more than just cars — they will also have local vendors, music, food, drinks, raffles, a face painter, and more. There are currently 98 cars signed up, and they said they are expecting 150 this year, which will exceed last year’s event.

Current Treasurer and Events Coordinator of GCBA Jeannie Riccardo said she is excited for this weekend’s event and to keep growing it every year.

Riccardo said that a portion of the proceeds goes to local charities, such as local food pantries.
Also, in exchange for bringing a nonperishable donation, you will receive a sweet treat.

“It’s all about getting small businesses together, and bringing the community together,” Riccardo said.

She said the GCBA collected 15 bags of food to donate last year.

“Right before Thanksgiving, St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church told us they ran out of food,” she said. “We gave them some of our proceeds to restock right before Thanksgiving for the families that needed it. We made it happen.”

Riccardo said that although her favorite part of the day is getting the community together, she can still appreciate the beautiful cars.

“My heart goes to the classics,” she said. “I’m a big fan of Corvettes.”

The event will be free to enter and held in the Glen Head Railroad Parking Lot on Oct. 25, with a rain date of Oct. 26.
