Driver Arrested After Wrong-Way Crash On Northern State Parkway: PD

JERICHO, NY — A Nevada man was arrested in a Jericho wrong-way crash in which he sideswiped another vehicle, authorities said Tuesday.

Around 7:08 a.m., New York State police received calls for a wrong-way driver in the eastbound lanes of the Northern State Parkway. Police said a Chevy Equinox, driven by 35-year-old Travis Kyles, sideswiped a Toyota west of Exit 35. There were no reports of injuries at the scene.

Kyles refused a blood test and was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, police said, which is a misdemeanor.

He is scheduled to be arraigned at Nassau County First District Court on Wednesday.
