Each family taking part will receive a free Citizen Preparedness Corps Response Starter Kit.
GLEN COVE, NY — A New York Emergency Preparedness Workshop will be hosted at the Glen Cove Senior Center on Glen Street on Aug. 28, according to a news release.
The workshop is sponsored by Nassau Legis. Delia DeRiggi-Whitton and the state.
It will be presented by the State’s Citizens Preparedness Corps, which hosts workshops “to equip residents with the tools and resources to prepare for any type of natural or man-made disaster, respond accordingly, and recover as quickly as possible to pre-disaster conditions – especially as severe weather events become more frequent and more extreme,” the news release states.
