Fire Briefly Shuts Glen Cove Hospital Emergency Room: FD
Seven patients on Saturday afternoon were moved to other parts of the hospital, a spokesperson said.

GLEN COVE, NY — A fire at Glen Cove Hospital over the weekend led to the emergency room being briefly shut, Glen Cove Police said.
Seven patients were moved to other parts of the hospital, spokesperson Miriam Sholder confirmed.
Additionally, she said that the hospital did not accept emergency department patients while the fire was being extinguished.

Normal operations resumed by 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sholder said.
Firefighters arrived on the scene at approximately 11 a.m.

There were no injuries, the Glen Cove Police confirmed.
As for the cause, combustible materials from generator exhaust led to the flames, Newsday said.
