George Santos Expected To Plead Guilty To Charges Monday: Source

The disgraced former congressman is expected to appear in the Central Islip courthouse on Monday afternoon, Patch has learned.

CENTRAL ISLIP, NY — George Santos will enter a plea deal on Monday in his superseding indictment, a source with knowledge of the agreement confirmed to Patch on Saturday.

Santos is due in court at 3 p.m. to face Judge Joanna Seybert, Patch has learned.

Details of the plea agreement weren't revealed, but Santos is expected to plead guilty to multiple charges from his 23-count superseding indictment, the source said.

On Monday, Judge Seybert announced Santos' federal trial was on track to begin Sept. 9 with jury selection.

Faces charges ranging from wire fraud, conspiracy to commit offenses against the U.S., making false statements to the Federal Election Commission and aggravated identity theft.

“From day one, we made the case that George Santos had no business serving in the House of Representatives and needed to be held accountable for his crimes. As the first person to call for his expulsion and lead the effort, I am glad to hear that Santos is finally being honest about the crimes he has committed. No one is above the law,” said Congressman Robert Garcia (D-CA), who was the first lawmaker to seek expulsion of Santos.

“Santos allegedly led multiple additional fraudulent criminal schemes, lying to the American public in the process," FBI Assistant Director-in-Charge, said in October, at the time of the indictment.

Santos was expelled from Congress before his first term was concluded in Dec. 2023.
