Glen Cove Boys & Girls Club

Noah D. and Jayden O. were named Youth of the Month for May.

(Glen Cove Boys & Girls Club)

Seven-year-old Junior Youth of the Month Noah is already making a big impression at the Club. As a new member who joined at the beginning of this school year, he has quickly blossomed into a standout youth who consistently leads by example. Whether he is lending a hand to staff, encouraging his peers to pitch in, or making sure no one feels left out during playtime, Noah’s kindness and inclusivity shine through. His maturity, positive attitude, and willingness to support others make him a role model among his peers and a joy to have at the Club. Noah’s favorite subject is math, but his love of learning does not stop there. He is a regular in the Learning Center and approaches new challenges with enthusiasm. One of his favorite books is The Trumpet of the Swan by E.B. White, reflecting his thoughtful nature and growing imagination. When he is not reading or learning, Noah enjoys drawing and playing video games. When asked what he wants to be when he grows up, “a wrestler,” he replied with great enthusiasm. He also enjoys staying active in the gym and is especially excited to spend time with friends on the Club’s new playground.

Senior Youth of the Month, Jayden O., is a shining example of dedication, curiosity, and character. At 13 years old and in the 7th grade, Jayden is being recognized for the second time, which speaks to his consistency and outstanding contributions to the Club. A member since 2018, he attends daily and brings a positive spirit that lifts those around him. Jayden’s favorite subject is math, and with dreams of becoming an engineer, he is already thinking ahead to college with great excitement. Though he has outgrown them now, the Dr. Seuss collection will always be among his favorite books, having sparked his early love for reading. Outdoorsy by nature, Jayden enjoys playing soccer, riding his bike, fishing, hiking, swimming, and spending time with his family and friends in the fresh air. Always eager to learn and grow, he is planning on taking on small jobs like babysitting, dog walking, lawn mowing, and watering plants to build his independence and responsibility. His enthusiasm for the Club is clear, “I love to meet and make new friends at the Club and hope to work here when I’m old enough.” This summer, Jayden is especially looking forward to attending sleepaway camp and making even more unforgettable memories.
