Glen Cove City Officials Seek Catering Proposals For Golf Course

GLEN COVE, NY — Glen Cove City officials are taking proposals for a new restaurant and catering facility at the municipal golf course, Mayor Pamela Panzenbeck announced Friday in a news release.

A Request for Proposals invites proposers to submit ideas for renovating "the existing facility while continuing restaurant service and improving catering capabilities," the release stated.

The term of the present operator of The View expires at the end of February and municipal law requires it be issued, officials said.

It's operator, as well as any new applicants, have been encouraged to respond with their ideas "to enhance this scenic venue," according to officials.

Submissions in response to a Request for Proposals are due Aug. 30.

Panzenbeck and the City Council will appoint a panel of residents to review the responses and to provide evaluations for consideration with a final award determined by a vote.

Panzenbeck said, “The site has beautiful views over the golf course, Dosoris Pond, and Long Island Sound, and we’d like to enhance the services we provide to present patrons while attracting new ones."

City officials are hoping for a proposer’s vision that will complement the new pro shop and driving range, she said.

“When it’s done, we will have a wonderful facility with a beautiful golf course, a well-utilized Stanco Park, and a quality restaurant and catering service," she added.
