Companies are falsely soliciting donations for the district's athletic teams, the district says.

The Glen Cove City School District is warning all businesses of companies falsely soliciting donations, via letter or phone call, for the district’s athletic teams.
Authorities were contacted after the athletic director received T-shirts claiming to be for distribution to the district’s basketball team with the names of several local businesses imprinted on the back.
