Glen Cove HS Students Chosen For Hofstra Honor Band Festival

The district's Fine & Performing Arts Department seeks to provide a variety of arts experiences including at neighboring colleges.

Seven students from Glen Cove High School were selected to participate in the second annual 2024 Hofstra Honor Band Festival on Saturday, May 11, 2024 held at Hofstra University. High school students from across Long Island performed with members of the Hofstra Symphonic Band hosted by the New York State Band Directors Association.

Brittney Frank Rifkind, Band Director at Glen Cove High School, expressed immense pride in our seven talented and dedicated students, who showcased their musical talent at Hofstra Honor Band Day. Their participation not only brings honor but also offers invaluable experience and confidence in their musical journey.

Lawrence Nadel, District Coordinator of Fine & Performing Arts stated “Our Fine & Performing Arts Department continues to offer Early College Initiative opportunities for our students. Thank you Ms. Frank- Rifkind, who partnered with Hofstra University for this opportunity in Instrumental Music. As a department, we continue to strive for excellence by providing our students with authentic arts experiences from various neighboring colleges and universities.”
