Glen Cove Middle Schoolers Attend Summer Honors Institute

The soon-to-be eighth graders learned to develop business and leadership skills.

Finley Middle School students Michaela Adam and Colin Gallagher participated in the Summer Honors Institute VE (Virtual Enterprise) Program at LIU Post where they learned to develop business and leadership skills.

The pair, who will be entering eighth grade in the fall, attended seminars that taught them the fundamentals of starting a business and entrepreneurship. They also worked with other students from various schools who participated in the program to create a business pitch, which was presented to Iris Blanc, the executive director of Virtual Enterprise International, and Dr. Christopher Salute of LIU Post.

From their collaboration, the students were successful in achieving a certificate of Best Presentation Overall, out of all the students who participated in the program. Michaela's and Colin's business pitch, “Round the World” was extraordinary. Virtual Enterprise International and LIU Post faculty are excited to see their business flourish and look forward to seeing their upcoming ideas.
