Glen Cove Vehicle Tires Slashed, Police Say
Police are looking for the person or people responsible and released a description of a suspicious vehicle seen in the area at the time.
GLEN COVE, NY — Police are investigating after six vehicles had their tires slashed in Glen Cove over the weekend. On Saturday morning, residents on Prospect Avenue woke up to discover their vehicles had flat tires, Glen Cove police said. The tires had been punctured a sharp object.
Police said a suspicious light-colored small compact vehicle with a modified exhaust was seen in the area at the time of the slashings. Glen Cove police asked neighbors to report suspicious vehicles and people. Anyone with information about the slashings should call Glen Cove Police at 516-676-1000.
"This appears to be senseless act of criminal mischief, it's difficult to understand why someone felt damaging others property is something they needed to accomplish," Detective Lt. John Nagle of the Glen Cove Police Department said in a statement to Patch.
