Downtown Glen Cove was transformed into a boogie wonderland with Vinyl Revival at Downtown Sounds.
Vinyl Revival is a high energy dance/disco/ Motown/rock band dishing out “crazy fun” wherever they perform. Channeling their talents, the band creates a fun, upbeat song list that features some stellar vocals, excellent musicianship and fitting vocal harmonies.
Their set list of ‘70s dance and disco hits had attendees putting on their boogie shoes and asking to dance with somebody. Multiple conga lines formed, a dance circle showed off Glen Cove’s finest dancers, and even a makeshift limbo happened.

This week featured a special concert opener, professional singer, actress and songwriter Amelia Milo. Milo starred as Christine in a production of “The Phantom of the Opera” in Italy last year and has performed with Andrea Bocelli on numerous occasions in the United States and Europe. She will be performing with him again in Tuscany this September. Milo grew up on Long Island and is a recent graduate of Brown University. She sang songs from shows she had been in and told stories of her experiences performing on stage and with Bocelli.
At Glen Cove we are family, so naturally businesses and community members come together for the Friday night concerts. This week the Glen Cove Chamber of Commerce presented NOSH with a donation check with proceeds collected from their Culinary Delights event. Vendors set up their tables to inform people about local businesses and hand out some freebies. Restaurants stayed so attendees could stop in for a bite, and people could even order takeout to the Downtown Sounds pickup point.

When the band finished their set the crowd shouted for them to play that funky music. The band started up an encore song for one last dance.
The Downtown Sounds concert series will host its final performance of the season with Dr. K’s Motown Revue at 7:30 p.m. in Village Square.
