Locust Valley Man Fires Shots Out Of Home On Easter: Police

The man faces various charges, including illegally possessing a weapon.

A Locust Valley man was arrested for illegally possessing a weapon after police say he fired a shots out of his home on Easter Sunday.

According to authorities, neighbors observed 55-year-old Andrius Guobys holding what appeared to be a rifle after they heard the sound of a gunshot at 2:47 p.m. Police say Guobys fired two shots out the back door of his home.

Authorities responded to the scene and placed him under arrest without incident. No injuries were reported.

Guobys was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, first-degree reckless endangerment, prohibited use of a weapon and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. He will be arraigned Monday in First District Court in Hempstead.
