Man Breaks Into Nassau Home, Steals Keys And Car: Police
Police say he broke down the rear door of a home and stole various items, including keys to a vehicle parked in the driveway.
GLEN COVE, NY — Police have arrested a man who they say broke into a Glen Cove home last week, stole a car and drove it around Nassau County for three days.
On the afternoon of Feb. 18, Dylan Taliep, 28, broke down the rear door of a home on Frost Pond Road, entered the home and stole various items, including keys to a vehicle parked in the driveway, police said. He then stole the vehicle and drove it around the county until Friday, police said.
Investigators tracked Taliep to The Tides Motor Inn in Locust Valley and arrested him Saturday, Glen Cove police announced Monday. Taliep faces charges of 2nd-degree burglary, 3rd-degree grand larceny and 3rd-degree criminal possession of stolen property. All are felony charges.

Taliep was released on recognizance Saturday, though a temporary order of protection was issued in the case, court records indicated. He also faces two misdemeanor charges of assault with intent to cause physical injury and criminal mischief with intent to damage property stemming from a November domestic violence case.
Taliep was arrested Nov. 17 and released a day later, court records indicated. In that case, a temporary protection order was also issued.
