More, More, More: Lovesong at Downtown Sounds

From the first strum of the guitar everyone wanted to rule the dance floor at Downtown Sounds. Lovesong put on a performance that left the crowd yelling “more, more, more!”

People just couldn’t get enough, turns out Downtown Sounds was all they ever needed to have a great Friday night. With the largest turn out of the season, hundreds gathered in the streets of Downtown Glen Cove.

Lovesong is an ’80s New Wave tribute band that offers a unique concert experience featuring electrifying performances of legendary music by Duran Duran, INXS, The Cure, Tears for Fears, Depeche Mode, Erasure, New Order and more.

Warming up the crowd with a royal performance were Teen Showcase soloists and Glen Cove residents Elena Quinones, a 2025 graduate of Sacred Heart Academy, and Milania Quinones, a rising 8th-grader at St. Dominic.

I promise you there is more than just great music at Downtown Sounds. With the streets closed everyone could go where they want to, playing games behind the stage, competing in intense games of giant connect four or corn hole at Noble Savage. For this week there was even free face painting by Joanie Baloney! Don’t you forget about all the great local vendors that set up every week too. When all the dancing has you hungry like the wolf you can take a chance on all the tasty food options downtown.

Don’t you want more? Downtown Sounds returns Friday with Cuban music by SonMilanes. The Teen Showcase will open the night again with a performance of songs from “Grease” by the Jazz Hands Children’s Theatre.
