BAYVILLE, NY — A long-time Glen Cove family recently moved to Bayville but after only one month lost everything they owned in a house fire on December 20, a family relative told Patch.

A single mother and three sons were able to escape from the two-story home on Tildean Lane after initially being trapped during the early morning blaze.

Cinthia Gonzales said that the her cousin and her children lived for Glen Cove in years, and are now back in Glen Cove living with a family member.

"They have nowhere to go," she said.

"If anyone has clothes or household items that they were thinking of disposing of, this family could truly use it. They were trapped in the house and barely made it out alive with just the clothes on their backs."

The family needs clothes and shoes especially, Gonzales shared. Sizes needed are: women's size large clothes and size 7.5 shoes; boy's clothes in medium and size 6.5 shoes and men's size large clothes and size 8.5 and 9.5 shoes.

"My main concern was the 11-year-old boy who really has nothing," Gonzalez said.

Gonzalez says anyone interested in donating can email her at cinthiagon516@gmail.com.
