NY 27 Crash, LIRR Train Delays: LI Patch AM Traffic Digest

Here are the latest traffic updates that will impact your Thursday morning commute:

ON THE ROAD...

NASSAU COUNTY

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., construction on the Southern State Parkway will shut down one lane of traffic in both directions between Exit 18 and Exit 17S

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., construction will shut down one lane of traffic in both directions between Bellmore Avenue and Wantagh Avenue on NY 27

SUFFOLK COUNTY

As of 8:04 a.m., a disabled vehicle on eastbound I-495 is blocking the right shoulder between Exit 49S and Exit 49N

As of 7:44 a.m., a crash on westbound NY 27 is blocking the left lane between Exit 48 and Exit 46

As of 7:37 a.m., a crash on the Sagtikos State Parkway is blocking the left lane between Exit S3 and Exit S4

Construction on NY 347 will close one lane in both directions between Davis Avenue (Brookhaven) and Jayne Boulevard (Brookhaven), from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Roadwork on NY 111 will shut down one lane in both directions between Calebs Path (Smithtown) and I-495 LIE (Islip), from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., roadwork on NY 27 will shut down one westbound lane between Exit 55 and Exit 53

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., construction on NY 112 will shut down one lane in both directions between I-495 South Service Road (Suffolk) and NY 27 South Service Road (Suffolk)

Construction on eastbound NY 454 will shut down one lane between New Highway (Smithtown) and Old Town Road (Smithtown), from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

ON THE LIRR...

As of 8:59 a.m., trains are running on or close to schedule on all LIRR branches, except the Port Jefferson and Ronkonkoma lines.

Per the LIRR: "The 8:17 a.m. train from Jamaica due Port Jefferson at 9:51 a.m. is operating 15-20 minutes late after being delayed in Jamaica due to late-arriving equipment."

Over on the Ronkonkoma line, buses replace trains between Ronkonkoma and Greenport between 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Westbound buses will leave up to 30 minutes earlier than normal train schedules. Download the special timetable to view the bus schedule.
