Pedestrian Killed In Saturday Crash Identified As Glen Cove Man

GLEN COVE, NY — Authorities have identified a pedestrian who was struck and killed by a vehicle Saturday evening in Old Brookville.

Todd Tischier, 58, of Glen Cove, was walking in the vicinity of Glen Head Road around 6:54 p.m. when he was struck by a Jeep traveling southbound on Glen Cove Road, according to Nassau County police. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Jeep, only identified by police as a 36-year-old man, remained at the scene. Authorities say a vehicle brake and safety check were conducted.

The circumstances surrounding the fatal crash remain under investigation.
