GLEN COVE, NEW YORK – With Ukraine fighting for its survival, Assemblymember Charles Lavine (D-Glen Cove) is offering free solidarity stickers so people can express their support for the war-torn nation. Lavine has stood with Ukraine since it was brutally and unlawfully invaded by Russia in 2022. At that time, taking part in a well-attended and highly spirited rally in Glen Cove. That was followed by a clothing and supplies drive for the victims of Putin’s tyranny which resulted in tons of supplies being shipped overseas to help those in need. Most recently, Lavine’s words of support were expressed at another rally organized by the Holocaust Museum and Tolerance Center to mark three years since the start of the war. Now he’s hoping that by displaying the unifying American and Ukrainian flag by way of the sticker, people can show the people of Ukraine that we stand with them despite the words and actions of the Trump Administration.
“President Donald Trump’s unprecedented Oval Office verbal attack against Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made clear that the kinship between our two nations felt during the Biden presidency no longer exists,” Lavine said. “Yet so many people here in Nassau County and nationwide feel nothing but love and support for the Ukrainian people and this token is a way for them to express it.”
The stickers can be obtained by calling Lavine’s district office at (516) 676-0050 or via email by filling out his online form on his official webpage at https://nyassembly.gov/mem/Charles-D-Lavine/contact/
