Umberto's Of Glen Cove Launches Soft Opening This Week
The restaurant has Umberto's first wood-fired pizza oven, and the same Umberto's pizza that Nassau pizza fans told Patch is among LI's best.

GLEN COVE, NY — Umberto's of Glen Cove opened this week, in the former La Pala space at 246 Glen St. The restaurant's soft opening will have a limited food and drink menu.
The newest Nassau County Umberto's has the family-owned restaurant group's first wood-fired pizza oven.
Jay Miller, of Glen Cove, told Patch that the food was "amazing," after he stopped in to become one of the restaurant's first customers Tuesday.

"I used to go to the Plainview location when I lived in old Bethpage and now that they are here in my hometown, I will definitely be a regular there."
The restaurant is the newest from the family that owns Umberto's of New Hyde Park, which has a longstanding loyal fan base, who credit Umberto's with inventing the grandma slice.
