Vehicle Fire On I-495, LIRR Delays: LI Patch AM Traffic Digest

ON THE ROAD...

NASSAU COUNTY

As of 7:49 a.m., a vehicle fire is blocking the right lane on westbound I-495 between Exit 40W and Exit 39

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., construction on the Southern State Parkway will shut down one lane of traffic in both directions between Exit 18 and Exit 17S

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., construction will shut down one lane of traffic in both directions between Bellmore Avenue and Wantagh Avenue on NY 27

SUFFOLK COUNTY

Roadwork on NY 109 will close one lane in both directions between Murray Street and West Main Street (Babylon), from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Roadwork on northbound NY 231 will shut down one lane between Union Boulevard (Babylon) and Sunrise Highway - North Service Road (Huntington), from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., roadwork on NY 110 will shut down one lane in both directions between Old Country Road (Huntington) and I-495 Service Road (Babylon)

Roadwork on NY 111 will close one lane in both directions between West Suffolk Avenue and I-495 LIE (Suffolk), from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

From 7 a.m. to 3:30 a.m., roadwork on westbound NY 25A will close one lane between Bayview Terrace (Smithtown) and Arlington Avenue

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., construction on NY 112 will shut down one lane in both directions between Waverly Drive South and Sunrise Highway South Service Road (NY 27)

Construction on eastbound NY 454 will shut down one lane between New Highway (Smithtown) and Old Town Road (Smithtown), from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Roadwork on the Southern State Parkway will close one lane in both directions between Heckscher State Parkway END ROUTE (Islip) and Exit 40, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

From 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., construction on NY 347 will shut down one lane in both directions between Gibbs Pond Road (Smithtown) and Stonybrook Road (Brookhaven)

ON THE LIRR...

As of 8:57 a.m., trains are running on or close to schedule on all LIRR branches, except the City Terminal Zone, Ronkonkoma, and Montauk lines.

Per the LIRR: "The 5:39 a.m. train from Montauk due Long Island City at 8:44 a.m. is operating 10-15 minutes late due to equipment trouble."

Over on the Ronkonkoma line, the 7:32 a.m. train from Ronkonkoma due at Penn Station at 8:47 a.m. is running 10 to 15 minutes behind schedule.
