"This is a quite an opportunity for many people to see them all together," Curator Charles Riley said of the collection.
GLEN COVE, NY — Visitors to the Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center can experience a unique exhibition.

"When Dali shows you barbed wire and figures behind the barbed wire, he's really digging deep into the tragedy and the violence of history," Curator Charles Riley told Patch. "But then because he's Dali, he's also being the wiseguy that Dali can be."
The legendary artist drew his images without having a first-hand visual to draw on.

"Dali never got to Israel to observe," Riley said. "This is all done from his imagination and photographs."
A limited edition of 250 sets of twenty-five lithographs were made. Making this exhibition even more noteworthy, the museum said only a handful of complete sets are known to exist.
"They haven't been shown together like this as a suite," he said. "This is a quite an opportunity for many people to see them all together.
"Something like this show, where you're in the hands of a master, Dali and art can really make you feel something about the history of Israel, but also what's going on even to this particular day," Riley said.
The exhibition is available for viewing through May 23.
