Check Out These Red Hook Art Shows Before They Close
These two art shows produced by the Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition in Red Hook are closing after this weekend.

RED HOOK, BROOKLYN — Two summer art shows put on by the Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition (BWAC) are closing this weekend, so it's your last chance to enjoy what's on display.
The shows — "Speak Your Truth" and "COLOR" — take place at BWAC's show space, located at 499 Van Brunt St.
BWAC describes "Speak Your Truth" as the work of 200 local artists who "speak to what they stand for, value, and believe in, and what defines them as individuals and inspires them to create art."

"COLOR," brought together by Lilian Tone, a curator with the Museum of Modern Art, is a collection of 100 pieces in which approach color "from an enormous variety of viewpoints, subject matters, media, and styles.”
There are also a series of events planned for the afternoons of Aug. 13 and Aug. 14. Here's a rundown, courtesy of BWAC:

Saturday, Aug. 13
- 1:30 p.m. — Fitz, Callan and Bigs perform a mixture of rock, folk blues and country
- 3:30 p.m. — A performance from singer and songwriter Al Lee Wyer
Sunday, Aug. 14:
- 2:00 p.m. — A performance from singer and songwriter Matt Wiffen
- 4:00 p.m. — An affordable silent auction will be hosted, with bids starting at $30
