Kimchi Grill Moves To Gowanus, Will Be Replaced By New Cajun Cafe
The Korean BBQ joint is moving into the heart of Gowanus and will be delivery-only for now.
GOWANUS, BROOKLYN — Kimchi Grill, the Korean barbecue joint that has sat on the corner of Smith Street and Ninth Street for the last few years, is moving to a new location on Nevins Street near Union Street in Gowanus.
The move takes the restaurant from the intersection of Gowanus, Carroll Gardens and Red Hook into the heart of Gowanus and on the edge of the neighborhood's eponymous and super-toxic canal.
But Kimchi Grill's offerings will only be limited to delivery, for now, through Seamless, Grub Hub and by phone. The announcement was made on a sign posted on the storefront window. (We first spotted the sign via the always-excellent Pardon Me For Asking neighborhood blog.)

In its place, a cajun spot named Cafe Booqoo will arise, says another sign posted directly below the Kimchi announcement.
A Facebook page already set up for Cafe Booqoo describes it thusly:
