Plans Filed To Demolish 2 Gowanus Homes on Fourth And Baltic

Einhorn Development Group filed plans to demolish the three-story homes at 601 Baltic St. and 122 Fourth Ave., permits show.

GOWANUS, NY — A developer filed plans to demolish two homes on Baltic Street and Fourth Avenue earlier this month, New York YIMBY first reported.

Einhorn Development Group filed plans with the city to take down the three-story homes at 601 Baltic St. and 122 Fourth Ave. on Jan. 8, according to Department of Buildings records.

The owner of Einhorn, Harold Einhorn, declined to comment on plans for the lots after the demolition, but the company is known for developing condos around the city.

The company filed plans last year to build a 13-story building near Central Park and came under fire by residents for their proposal to construct a 11-story building on top of a church in Chelsea.

A committee of Chelsea residents filed a lawsuit in March to stop the project — which they called a "monstrosity" — arguing it violates city law and was improperly approved by the DOB, DNAinfo reported.
