Rapper Fetty Wap Gets Fine For Racing On Gowanus Expressway

The rapper was ordered to pay a fine and attend programs after he was arrested for speeding on the highway, the Daily News reported.

GOWANUS, NY — Rap star Fetty Wap got hit with a $500 fine and was ordered to attend safe driving trainings after he admitting to racing while drunk on the Gowanus Expressway, the New York Daily News reported.

The rapper, who's given name is Willie Maxwell, pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment and driving while ability impaired in court Thursday for his arrest last year, records show.

Maxwell was driving his 2012 Mercedes CLS AMG more than 100 mph on the Gowanus Expressway, near the Hamilton Avenue exit, on Nov. 3 when officers pulled him over at about 1 a.m., police said.

The rapper handed officers a suspended New Jersey driver's licenses and failed a breathalyzer test, authorities said. He was hit with 13 charges for the arrest and faced up to four years behind bars for them, the News reported.

In exchange for his plea, a judge ordered Maxwell to pay a fine, attend safe driving programs and a victim impact panel, the News reported.

Zaine Richards, 31, who was racing with Maxwell on the highway, also pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment and unlicensed driving charges on Wednesday and was hit with a fine, according to the paper.
