RED HOOK, BROOKLYN — This Thursday, the city will host its second public "visioning session" on the proposed Brooklyn Queens Connector (BQX).

The meeting will start at 6 p.m. at the Red Hook Recreation Center, located at 155 Bay St.

As currently envisioned, the BQX would connect Astoria to Sunset Park with a 17-mile light-rail train.

Last week, staffers from the New York City Economic Development Corp. and Friends of the Brooklyn Queens Connector, an advocacy group pushing for the project, hosted a discussion of the plan in Astoria.

Some Sunset Park activists have raised concerns about the level of community input going into the BQX plan, as well as its potential impact on local rental prices.
