Woman Found Dead In Water Near Red Hook Port: Cops
A woman was found dead in the water near Erie Basin, which is off of Van Brunt Street on the Red Hook waterfront, police said.

RED HOOK, BROOKLYN — A woman's body was found in the water near a Red Hook port on Tuesday morning, police said.
Police were sent to Erie Basin, an inlet of water near the Red Hook Channel, around 8:20 a.m. after a 911 call that there was an unconscious woman in the water near 499 Van Brunt St. When they got there, officers found the unidentified woman in the water and had the NYPD's Harbor Unit bring her to shore, police said.
Emergency responders pronounced the woman dead on the scene.

Police have not yet released the name of the woman and said the investigation is ongoing.
The New York City Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death, police said.
