To Whom It May Concern,
I am in complete agreement with your guest editorial “Zeldin Must Choose
Long Island Over Polluters.” The EPA is defunding our most important
safeguards to protect public health and our environment. Zelden’s EPA
is shirking responsibility by weakening efforts to remove chemicals from
our water. This affects over one million New Yorkers.
I hope that our elected representatives and for that matter, the Congress act to
resist the current administration’s assault on health and safety measures.
They need to: defend drinking water limits, hold polluters financially accountable,
support long term solutions to upgrade treatment infrastructure. Finally, the
Congress needs to pass the Water Act (Water Affordability Transparency
Equity and Reliability Act.)” The Water Act provides the bold solution that all
communities in our country need to protect safe drinking water from Trump’s
attack on essential water safety programs.” W. Hauter, Exec. Dir. Food and Water Watch.
Sincerely,
