Fire Breaks Out At Great Neck Office Building, 2 Hurt: Officials
Two people were injured in a fire at a Great Neck office building Sunday morning.

GREAT NECK, NY — About 50 firefighters were on the scene of a blaze Sunday morning at a medical office building in Great Neck, authorities said.
Two people were exiting the building at 241 East Shore Rd. around 10:34 a.m., when they spotted a large fire coming from one of the office suites, Nassau County police said. The witnesses — identified as a 75-year-old man and a 58-year-old man — called 911 after unsuccessfully trying to put the fire out.
The Great Neck Alert, Great Neck Vigilant, and the Manhasset-Lakeville fire departments responded to the scene and extinguished the fire.

The 58-year-old witness was hospitalized after suffering from smoke inhalation and burns to both arms, authorities said. The second witness also suffered from smoke inhalation, but was treated at the scene.
It is unclear what caused the fire, but Alert Fire Chief James Neubert tells Patch that it was contained to the first floor. An investigation is underway.
