Gold Coast Arts Center To Screen Nominated Oscar Shorts

The short films will be screening on Feb. 10.

The Gold Coast Arts Center will be screening all the Oscar-nominated short films on Feb. 10 at Soundview Cinemas in Port Washington.

The screening will begin at 6 p.m. and will show the five nominated films and the animated short films. Purchase tickets here.

A special Q&A session with Oscar-winning producer, Mara Kassin and GCIFF Short Film Curator, Alexandra Gil, will take a place following the screening.

Mara Kassin – Oscar Winning ProducerMara has three films on the film festival circuit right now, Extra Innings, Ladies Lounge (which was filmed in Great Neck) and Friendly Neighborhood Coven. She co-produced Shawn Christensen’s Curfew, which won the 2013 Oscar for Best Live Action Short Film. Mara starred in and co-produced, Grandma’s Not A Toaster, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and went on to win many other festivals. Mara’s recent stage work includes plays by Elizabeth Irwin, Erica Saleh, Halley Feiffer, Heidi Schreck, Anna Ziegler, Brooke Berman, and Caroline McGraw. Recent film credits include BEFORE I DISAPPEAR, TINY THINGS, CUL DE SAC, and ROOTZ. She has several projects in development, including two pilots and two features.
