• Lead found in school drinking water on Long Island (newsnationnow.com) — Great Neck schools are among dozens of Long Island districts where state testing found elevated lead levels in some drinking fountains, prompting immediate shutdowns of affected fixtures. Schools must provide alternative water sources, notify families and staff, and carry out remediation and follow-up testing to ensure safer drinking water for students.
   

• Great Neck Man, 60, Exposes Himself To Boy: PD (patch.com) — Police say a 60-year-old Great Neck resident was arrested after a teenager reported a lewd act in Daniel J. Berg Memorial Park in Russell Gardens. The man faces charges including public lewdness and endangering the welfare of a child, and detectives are asking anyone with similar experiences to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers anonymously.
   

• Wendy Burton Led With Community First. Stanford Felt the Difference. (newpineplainsherald.org) — A former Great Neck resident and Great Neck North High School alum, Wendy Burton went on to lead the Town of Stanford in Dutchess County with a “community first” approach. As she steps down after six years as supervisor, colleagues praise her for rebuilding trust in town government, championing a new comprehensive plan, and spearheading a volunteer-driven park renovation that brought residents together.
