GREAT NECK, NY β€” Great Neck voters will be well acquainted with their candidates next year, with incumbent Democrats sweeping their elections. Democratic District Attorney Madeline Singas easily won her election, as did Town of North Hempstead Supervisor Judi Bosworth, Legislator Ellen Birnbaum and town council member Veronica Lurvey.

In the race for supervisor, Bosworth defeated Republican challenger David Redmond, who later wrote in a Facebook post that his team was "highly disappointed" in the results. He said the odds were against him from the start.

"I knew going in we were up against a stacked deck, but that is never a good excuse not to fight for you," Redmond wrote in a Facebook post. "In fact, we've inspired too many people along the way to ever give up."

Redmond added that his campaign aimed to give people a voice to air their concerns with local government.

Meanwhile, Democrat Charles Berman also earned a victory in the race for tax receiver.
