Great Neck High Schools Named Grammy Foundation Semifinalists
The high schools are among 120 schools in the United States in the running for a grant for their music program.
Great Neck High School South and Great Neck High School North are among 120 school nationwide selected as a Grammy Foundation Signature School Semifinalist for 2015.
The program recognizes top U.S. public high schools that are “making an outstanding commitment to music education during an academic school year,” according to the foundation.
Finalists will be announced in March 2015 for the Signature Schools program. These schools will receive a custom award and a monetary grant from $1,000 to $10,000 for their music program.

The top programs are designated Gold recipients, from which one is designated the National Grammy Signature School. The remaining schools are designated Signature Schools.
Nearly $875,000 in grants have been distributed to more than 800 schools since the program began in 1998.

- Division Avenue High School in Levittown
- Garden City High School in Garden City
- General Douglas MacArthur High School in Levittown
- Herricks High School in New Hyde Park
- Huntington High School in Huntington
- Great Neck High School North in Great Neck
- Great Neck High School South in Great Neck
- Long Beach High School in Long Beach
- Schreiber High School in Port Washington
- Smithtown High School East in St. James
- Smithtown High School West in Smithtown
