Man Robs Great Neck Deli; Linked To 2 Others Burglaries In Town: PD

Authorities have arrested a man they say is behind multiple burglaries in Great Neck. The latest incident happened outside the LIRR station.

GREAT NECK, NY — A 57-year-old man has been arrested in connection to multiple burglaries in the Great Neck area.

Jung Su Kim, of Queens, was linked to two previous burglaries after being apprehended for a third at the Plaza Eatery Deli on Sunday, Nassau County police said.

Shortly before 1:30 a.m., officers responded to 28 North Station Plaza and noticed that one of the windows of the deli had been opened. Multiple cigarette packs and an unknown amount of cash were stolen from the deli, prompting police to fan out and search for the suspect.

Police say they spotted Kim walking through the parking lot at 38 Great Neck Rd. and flagged him down. Kim reportedly refused to stop for officers and fled on foot. Following a brief struggle near Brompton Road, Kim was arrested and taken into custody.

A subsequent investigation revealed that Kim was also behind two other Great Neck burglaries that occurred on April 2 and April 27, 2022, officials said. He was charged with three counts of third-degree burglary, possession of burglar's tools, and resisting arrest.

This isn't the first time Kim has been arrested in connection with a burglary. According to police, Kim was charged with criminal possession of stolen property on Sept. 16, 2021.
