Opera Classics at Firefighter Park

It's the week leading up to Labor Day and there's plenty to do in Great Neck:

Great Neck Schools: Football kicked off last week. All varsity and junior varsity sports begin Monday (except badminton). For everyone else, just one week of summer left. School begins after Labor Day.

Hometown USA Family Day: Celebration of American traditions with a special Salute to the Armed Forces at North Hempstead Beach Park Monday beginning at 10 a.m.

Summer Concert Series: Great Neck Plaza’s last concert of the summer; Dr. Pamela Levy, “Say Goodbye to Summer with Opera Classics” at Firefighter Park Tuesday at 8 p.m. 

Jazz Artists: North Hempstead’s Project Independence presents a program featuring live music and discussion at the "Yes We Can!" Community Center Thursday at 10:30 a.m. 

Kings Point Invitational: The US Merchant Marine Academy’s women’s volleyball team plays host to a season-opening tournament beginning Friday at 7 p.m. USMMA faces Wentworth. Saturday’s matchups include CCNY and Farmingdale State.
