Price Of Parking Permits To Double In Village Of Great Neck
The Village of Great Neck is raising the price of permit parking. Here's when the hike goes into effect.
GREAT NECK, NY — Parking permits in Great Neck is about to get more expensive.
Earlier this month, the Village of Great Neck's Board of Trustees voted to amend a local law that will double the price of short- and long-term parking permits. Local - Law Section A583-28, as it's called, hasn't been amended since 2008, according to village records. The price hike goes into effect on Jan. 1, 2023.
Under the amended law, permit fees will be as follows:

Employee Parking
- $90 per calendar quarter if issued prior to or during the first month of each quarter
- $70 if issued during the second month of each quarter
- $40 if issued during the third month of each quarter
Resident Overnight Parking

- $90 per calendar quarter if issued prior to or during the first month of each quarter
- $70 if issued during the second month of each quarter
- $40 if issued during the third month of each quarter
Temporary Overnight Parking
- $4 per night
- $40 for a maximum of 10 nights
Normally, parking permits can be purchased at Village Hall during office hours. However, Village Hall is temporarily closed due to damage sustained in a fire. It is not immediately clear when the building will reopen to the public.
