2 Hurt In Long Island Expressway Crash
The two-vehicle crash occurred on Saturday morning.
Two people were hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash on the Long Island Expressway in Melville on Saturday morning.
Melville firefighters responded to the crash that occurred in the eastbound lanes between Exits 48 and 49 at 3:57 a.m. Both drivers suffered non-life threatening injuries and were taken to Huntington Hospital for treatment by the Melville Rescue Squad.
Two ambulances, an engine and a paramedic unit responded to the scene. Units were under the direction of Assistant Chiefs David Kaplan and Bill Schmitt, according to PIO Steve Silverman.
