All members of the community are invited to attend a 9/11 remembrance ceremony in Melville on Monday, Sept. 11 in honor of the 16th anniversary of that tragic day.
The service will be held at the Melville Fire Department Station No. 3, located on Old Country Road and New York Avenue, at 8 p.m.
There will be a candlelight remembrance around a steel beam that was recovered from the World Trade Center, which stands on a memorial plaza at the station.
